Rifflandia 2011 made me a believer again. I swore never to return after the Rifflandia debauchery at Market Square back in 09. Standing in line for 3 hours and having the gates closed on me by security… not cool.

The move to RAP was absolutely genius, the price of booze was baffling and the capacity / crowds was totally comfortable. No lines to get into the compound or to get beer. Hats off Rifflandia planners.

As someone who worked the festival this year and has a history with this festival I cannot say enough positive things about Rifflandia. The attention to detail put into the festival from the organizers is bar none and a testament to their understanding of the true festival experience. Victoria has a real gem on their hands with Rifflandia, lets hope it continues to gain strength.

I was super impressed with the efficiency of the festival – specifically the lack of lines and the proximity of the beer gardens to the music. I too have attended several festivals and found this is apparently NOT an easy equation. Rifflandia4 was extremely well thought out and a blast in general. I really hope this is a sign of things to come in the years to come.

huge props to the whole rifflandia team – organizers, volunteers, and attendees. the festival seemed to go off without a hitch. congratulations, victoria, on putting together a worthwhile and awesome event without some asshole ruining the fun for everyone who worked hard to make it such a success.

Being a volunteer was soo chill. I gave Andrew (Broken Social Scene) a Mr.T button backstage and he wore it during the show. I rode those pimped out bikes with Aaron (Awolnation), and met Ryan (Mother Mother). Free pizza, special swag, like the lime green tshirts that were exclusive to the 300 volunteer. I had sooo much fun. The organizers were laid-back and weren’t stuck up. It was such a great experience.

As one of the guys who did security all weekend it’s nice to get props, so appreciate that for sure. Also have to say that it was a pleasure dealing with everyone there, even the troublemakers that had to leave were polite and respectful for the most part. Can’t wait till next year!
